Our organization is passionate about ensuring that every child and family in our community has access to the support and resources they need to thrive. Our three divisions, Birthdays, Babies, and Basics, are here to provide that support with compassion and care. We believe in building on families' strengths and empowering them to thrive. By working together, we can create a brighter future for our community, where every family feels loved, supported, and valued.
How The Celebration Got Started
In 2011, our founder, Megs Yunn, met a young girl named, Beverly, at a local after-school program. Megs was helping her with her reading homework and Beverly had to use the word accustomed to in a sentence. Not knowing the word's meaning, Ms. Megs asked, “Beverly, at birthday parties, people are accustomed to eating what?” Beverly responded that she had never had a birthday party of her own or even a slice of her own birthday cake. Inspired by this interaction, Megs started the nonprofit, Beverly’s Birthdays, to provide meaningful birthday celebrations for children experiencing homelessness and families in need.
